A flexible health insurance plan, specifically designed for those who are self-employed. With Sanitas Autónomos you will get full health coverage and, in addition, you will benefit from special advantages that adapt to the situations of a self-employed person, such as temporary disability, hospitalization, or traffic and work-related accidents. As an additional benefit, the first €500 of your premium is exempt from income tax (IRPF).

We only require:

If you have been covered by another health insurance policy in Spain for at least one year before joining Sanitas, you may eliminate the waiting periods on your new policy, except for childbirth.

Sanitas has one of the most extensive medical networks, ensuring you have multiple care options available.

Yes, the policy covers emergency medical care abroad up to €12,000 per insured person per year, so you’re protected wherever you go. You can also contact a doctor in Spain via video call for non-urgent consultations thanks to our digital coverage.
Note: to benefit from this service, your stay abroad must not exceed 90 days.

Yes, health insurance policies have a 12-month duration and are automatically renewed. If you decide not to renew, simply let us know one month in advance.

Your policy will take effect on the 1st day of the month you choose when signing up for the insurance.

If you have any illness or condition prior to enrolling in the insurance, you must declare it during the medical questionnaire in the second step of the registration process. After that, the procedure is as follows:
1. Medical review: The policy will remain pending while the medical department reviews your case.
2. Personal assessment: A doctor will contact you to evaluate the pre-existing condition and determine whether any coverage will be limited or if you can access 100% of the services.
3. Final decision: After the assessment, you will receive detailed information about the available coverage. At this point, you can choose to activate the policy or decline it at no cost.

A copay is a small amount you pay for certain medical services. It allows us to offer you a lower premium. If you don’t visit the doctor frequently, it’s an excellent way to save money.
